Local Wildlife

We came across this walking back from a leather outlet just outside Selçuk.  It had been a cold night, the air temperature early afternoon was around 15C so the snake was probably sunning itself.   For scale, the paving stones are about 10 inches in length, so this is a small young viper.  It was next to a road so with a long thin stick we encouraged it back into the undergrowth where it wıll be at far less risk of becoming roadkill.
